Vítejte na oficiální stránce Wikimanie 2008! Letos se bude konat v Alexandrii v prestižní nové (Alexandrijské knihovně^(en)). Momentálně pracujeme na finalizaci jednotlivých podrobností o Wikimanii, jako průvodce městem, registrace na Wikimanii apod.

Pokud byste se chtěli stát dobrovolníky při organizaci a pomoci tak stát se Wikimanii 2008 mimořádnou událostí, zvažte, prosíme, své zapojení do jednoho či více organizačních výborů, což obnáší buď pomoc kompletně online, nebo přiložení rukou k dílu v činnostech během konference. Co je Wikimanie?

Wikimanie je pravidelná konference pro uživatele wiki projektů provozovaných nadací Wikimedia Foundation. Minulé konference byly pořádány v oblíbených městech na celém světě – Frankfurt nad Mohanem v Německu (stránky Wikimania 2005), Boston v USA (stránky Wikimania 2006) a Tchaj-pej na Tchaj-wanu (stránky Wikimania 2007). If I dare list some of the things I loved more specifically, and which help making it what I consider was a *great* wikimania.
Most of the attendees were really wikimedians. Not swarms of journalists, nor curious visitors. There were many times I had this odd feeling we were on meta, or on this list, just chatting or trolling, simply face to face.
I think the central point was a little anthill where we could always find others, someone to talk to, something to look at, something to eat... It felt such a warm place. — Florence Devouard
